Default How Do I Clean the Headlight Projector..?

Hi guys,

Not entirely sure I'm getting this? But for the life of me i cant see how you can gain any kind of access to one of the hex screws? Unless I'm missing something or just miss read it but it just seems unclear to me?

Any help?

Once you've got the other bolts out you can move the inside enough to get to that last bolt.

It is a bit of a PITA but just take time and a bit of perseverance.

You have to unscrew it at an angle, feels almost like you're prying the screw out and the same time as unscrewing it.

I can't see how that is possible, there isnt really any room to get behind it or to even get enough at an angle without rounding the head off?

Have you done yours? I see your from Gloucester too.

I've done a front end upgrade on my V50 so have exactly the same lights as you. It is possible and you just have to take your time and keep at it. You could get a uniersal joint that may give you a little extra purchase on the bolt but I didn't need it to get mine out.

Is that a face lifted headlight, if so maybe they have made it more difficult to access, remember there being one that was hard to get at but don't remember it being that bad.

From reading some threads there was a white ball and knuckle thing that you pulled out. This is located well in the depths of this headlight. I have got the common cracked lens but Volvo refuse to replace these so originaly I looked at getting some new used headlights and splitting them and swapping the lens. But after reading that its not advised I then looked at doing this to just clean them up a little.
