Original Sensus Maps update - Page 35

Had my car in to get a Sensus update but they wanted to charge me £181 because it needs 3 pieces of software - 1st to remove security protection (??), another I can’t remember what for and the 3rd one for that actual update. Doesn’t sound right to me according to other experiences in this thread but what do others think? (I started another thread on how the garage’s attempt to do an update has resulted in a bonnet cable and sensor problem but I’ll not go into that here lol)! I’m losing patience with this Volvo garage near Edinburgh.

Can you not just book it in for a service at a dealer and you will get any updates free of charge.

It’s the Sensus update to allow free downloads of latest maps via the USB. It is a paid for update. Thanks though!

Sat Nav updates are not part of the routine software updates anyway.

Just had this from Volvo Customer Support:

"Your V60’s next available Maps update will be available W/c 4th June 2018."

Email from Volvo customer services, prompted by my following up on their response to the same question when asked last year.

I have just asked the question for my S60 MY12 pre face lift , sturgess Leics wanted 93 quid for the job and they reckon it takes half a day to do.

Seems like they do charge a fair bit higher than the other Volvo dealerships ..

Hi just wanted to add this, i contacted volvo uk asking about map updates and got this response from them,

Thank you for your email below.

The next Sensus Navigation update for Europe maps is due to be released week commencing November 2018.

This will be available to download from our support website in the link below.

I had my XC60 software and maps updated today at Mill Volvo Sunderland, just under £70 for software 1210 and Europe map V30.16.04 very pleased
