Default Driving Licence

Hello all, my driving licence and car logbooks still show my old address from about 3.5 years ago. Before I update DVLA with the details (and risk a £1000 fine!), does anyone have any advice on how to proceed? Especially if you have been in this position before.

Thanks

I never updated the addresses when I moved in 2015.

Can you not just update the address without telling them the date of change?

I don't see that there is a major issue.

You have a valid licence registered to your old address, you moved and forgot to tell DVLA. You have now realised that the address needs changing and will send the details to DVLA. they ar enot going to be interested in how long you have lived at your current address.

It would be a completely different matter if you were involved in an accident or similar and the police are involved and you have to present your licence. In that scenario there is a chance they would throw the book at you.

When I went onto the DVLA website, it said I would need to provide my addresses for the last three years.

I have looked at my "counterpart D740" form and it doesn't require so much information as the website for a change of address, so it might be a safer bet!

So give them your current address and your previous address, still shouldn't need to tell them move date.

I'm just reading that now on the post office website.
