The same thing happened to me too with my current V40 T5. When it arrived, it was missing the premium audio I ordered. I had a guaranteed trade-in value without a date or mileage limit on the V60 D4 I was swapping, so I rejected it. The salesman accepted that the dealership was at fault and immediately re-ordered the correct spec. The salesman got to drive the V40 with the wrong spec for 3 months before they sold it as an ex-demo car.

If you end up waiting this long just insist you are in my20 production week. If you are keen to get it sooner they shouldn’t really struggle finding you a modifiable dealer build slot that will deliver the car within 4-6weeks. If they can’t, go find a dealer who can - I am sure they will deliver the car to your door no problem anywhere in the country and you will have extra rights because of distance selling.

T8 MY18 and 19 saw couple major differences, one is the tank, good, the lower power was very bad, especially as the emissions went from 47mg to 55mg I think, certainly took it into a far worse band for company and bik.
But there was no stock of MY18 so I had no choice, especially as I missed as my18 stock that suited me by and hour

I thought The emissions increase was just a change of methodology. The like for like emissions went down due to minor detune and I am sure the marketing people fight hard with engineers before they let them reduce power below the magic 400 number. I would be surprised if there was a siginificant ability to tell the power reduction by the majority of the people in the blind test so lower power is just less flattering to the ego. Considering that change of calculation was not optional If they simply recalculated you into new approach without the detune you would probably end up paying a lot more so they saved you money with model year changes.

They immediately get a financial incentive from Volvo which is added to as time goes on. At roughly six months old they get a final substantial incentive to dispose of the car at a very attractive price to a retail customer if it hasn't already sold. This system minimises the financial impact of them getting your original order wrong!
