Default Sell Or Not

I had a thought of dropping my 2007 v70 d5 130,000mls
I love the car but fancy a change had it best part of four years it has full service history
the car has been looked after like a baby and drives like a car twice its value
I have been looking at Bmw 330d's touring which fetch double the price of the Volvo and drive the same
Dilemma

about 2008 -2010 touring estate ,been browsing
I need to educate myself about the models
I think i need to avoid the 2.0l models not only because they are underpowered but I have heard of many timing chain failures
I looked at a 2007 BM 335i (Petrol) Coupe today 300bhp +
£500 tax per year !
What a machine

I think you've answered your own question. My brother had an 850 2.5 auto petrol for a long number of years and for similar reasons went to the dark side with a year old 525d. Didn't last six months. Between run flat jokes calling wolf and comparable fuel consumption to the 850 and loads of other niggles they hated it with a passion.
Volvos are good at giving back and a wise man once told me that the key to happiness was the ability to admire without the desire to possess.

Bought a 2009 525d(3.0) step auto last year with 30,ooo miles, comfort seats, lux pack, soft-close doors, not the overall quality i remembered from Bmw as some plastc trim just looked nasty and the paint finish was just average.... but that engine and box was a delight and RWD is so much better(outside of winter),

Alpina, the custom arm of Bmw bin the run-flats and its said the improvement in ride and refinement is extraordinary!

Sold it for 3k profit.. but i miss it occasionally, it was a minter.

A good mate of mine sold his 2006 Audi A6 Avant, got a 2009 BMW 3-something saloon. Hated it. Got a 2009 BMW 5-something estate. Hated it, sold it. He's back in the 3-something saloon.

He had a spin recently in my 2000 V70, and said he was blown away by how much nicer a car it is/was than both his BMWs - nicer drive, more comfy, more robust and quality-feeling.

He's on the look-out now for a 2006-2010 V70.

All cars mentioned are/were TDis.

BMW went downhill after the e39. That was their peak in my opinion.

It will have a wash and polish this weekend to say sorry
I hope it will forgive me
