General: - S60 Bumper

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has taken of their rear bumper. If so is the stereo amp in the bumper? how many tabs are on the bumper? any information on how the rear bumper goes together and comes apart would be very helpful.

the Stereo amp is under the Passenger seat.

strange,i've dismantled them and found them under the drivers seat,biggish triangular thing.Do they put them under the passenger seat too?

I'm confused as to why you would think the amp would be behind the bumper?

Surely all vehicles would have electronics like stereo amps inside the car?

Think its the radio signal amp thats in the rear bumpers..

The S60 has a diversity antenna to improve reception - but don't think it has a signal amplifier as such. The Radio unit usually has one built in, but there is some electornic gagetry to take the signal from the antenna which is receiving it best or a combination of both antenna's

where is this aerial as well? I've heard and seen different locations for it? some are in the bumper - some in the C-pillar or indeed in the rear glass.

Going off topic a little now - but it depends what this Amplifier in question in the bumper is? The only thing I think it could be is something to do with the radio - but again I don't think there's a seperate singnal ampifier
unless it's the box of trickery mentioned at the top of this post.

I just got a quote to fix my bumper and they are saying there is a signal amp. in the rear bumper. just makin sure the guy isnt messin with me. does anyone know how many locator tabs are on the rear bumper?
