Mk1 C70 electric aerial - same between coupe & convertible?
I require an electric aerial for my 2000 'X' reg C70 GT Coupe. I see more electric aerials for sale from convertibles being broken as opposed to coupes. Is there a difference between the two, or would for instance one from a convertible fit my coupe?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure what the difference is but yes, they are.

Just an update on this - trying to get a compatible electric aerial for a C70 coupe is proving a nightmare. I've just pre-paid for an aerial from a breaker, and the aerial has been removed from a coupe...with the part number for a convertible aerial (8618361). Very odd. Reluctant to accept it as its not a coupe part, but I'd expect it to work if it's been removed from a coupe.
Hmm....

Looking on VIDA there are two part numbers for the coupe aerial.
Up to chassis number 12314 - 8614809 From chassis number 12315 9494385 The convertible is 8618361 throughout the whole production so there is a difference, but not sure what that is. I did wonder if the mounting on the wing is different and critical. The coupe mounting is 8611001 and the convertible is 8618359 so again different. The above may or may not be of any help, but logic would say the aerials would be interchangeable, even if the wing mounting button needed changing.

That answers all my questions - thank you!
It's odd that this coupe at this breakers is fitted with a convertible aerial, and it supposedly worked too....

Theres a post from years ago on here somewhere that I answered more comprehensively but from memory the convertible had more sections to the mast and slightly different fixing to the base...
