now then,a friend of mine is looking for a gear box for his 96 plate t5r manual,if any one has one or could let me know where to start looking that would be mint.thanks in advance, tony.

Hi Tony.
I have a 96 T5 (NON-R).
I am not aware if the boxes are different but if you can confirm either way, I have one thats already out of the car and can be collected from Carmarthen in west wales or couriered at cost. (no idea what cost would be, as its pretty heavy)

There are several on ebay for £100+, so may as well undercut that and ask for £60 plus shipping.
If interested, please let me know and I can be in for collection or make some moves to arrange courier to collect.
