Default V70 Boot Sensor

My boot light is showing as on on the dash, but it is firmly shut.
This means the alarm wont go on.

It was fine last night, but when it was opened and closed first thing this morning it wont go off. Its still doing it now at 2pm, so it doesn't appear to be condensation.

Where is the sensor, is it in the catch in the centre? I cleaned it and blew a few bits of dust out, but it had no effect.

Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks.

These cars have a habbit of fraying the loom near the boot hinge, it'll be worth removing the interior trim and checking/fixing the wiring.

Remove the bulb from it's holder in the boot to stop it draining the battery.

Do you get 2 flashes from the indicators when you lock the car?

Try here for micro switch testing -

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...=tailgate+lock

also could be wiring in the LH hinge .Do a search on here for tailgate +lock and you'll get lots of info.

Cheers

I took the trim off and just pushed all the wires into their holes, it seems to have fixed it. Loose wire somewhere I guess. Thanks for your help.

In getting the boot trim off, I seem to have broken the trim and it wont go back on, ho ho!! The holes where the clips go in the actual tailgate trim at the top have broken free so the holes where they were o size are now O, so the clips dont hold. Looks like it will need a new plastic bit at the top. Maybe I'll post a picture of what I'm talking about tomorrow in a new thread, that would be better.
