Renault Engines on Volvo 400 Series
Were the Renault engines used on the 400 Volvo series, engines which had been used on car models from the Renault range? (Renault 21 or 25 etc for eg.) Or were they specially made for Volvo by Renault?
THANKS ROb |

No, they were engines available in existing Renault models, predominantely in the Renault 19. Hovever the 1.8 is in the 8v Clio and Laguna has the 1.8 and 2.0 8v and 1.9TD.

The older 1.7's were in the R5, the 11 (I think) and the 21.

renault/volvo ?
im currently sourceing parts from renault for my B20f, the laguna 8v and megane 8v use this engine as for the gearbox, i'd imagine it to have a different bell housing on the renault engines however the bell housing has numerous holes in it that may or may not line up with the holes in the block, unsure of that 1 m8, ope this helps sum1, cheers
