Please help me what fuel???

Hi all. I have just bought 1987 240 D L2316cc. What fuel do I put in it? Its a petrol model but has a red filler cap. Do I put in lead replacement or can I use unleaded? Sorry for being such a thicko.

Hi,

Check with your local dealer as most of the later 240 series should be able to run on unleaded.
It may require a minor timing change, but as I say, check with the dealer as they have the info on all the models for this.
