Towbars
I need to fit a towbar to my 99 V70R AWD.
All the web adverts say theirs do not fit AWD except Eurobars & original Volvo which are very expensive. Does anyone know what the difference is between a standard car and the AWD models regarding towbar fitting? Alternatively is the original Volvo towbar a universal part so I could fit a secondhand bar from any 850/V70? Any help would be much appreciated John

RE: Towbars
When I bought my '99 V70 AWD it had a fixed Witter towbar already in place. I had this removed and replaced it with a Volvo removable towbar. The Witter one was put onto my Dad's '98 S70 T5 (because the Witter one on his '93 854 wouldn't fit the S70). However, for me the garage had initially ordered a removable towbar for a FWD V70 and it couldn't be used on the AWD. So they had to send it back and get an AWD one. I don't think the R AWD and non R AWD differ at the back end, so I don't see why a Witter one wouldn't fit your car.
