Help Identify My 240
Not really a technical question I know, but I am wondering if any forum members could shed any more light on the history of my car
Some of you have seen it at Uxbridge and the 2006 BKV. 240GLT saloon..1988.. Dark Metallic Blue tan leather Index Number F 923 PDG. It seems to have spent some time in the West Country, Bristol and Cirencester. I bought it from Steve Curtis in Swindon, but apart from a couple of MOT's and the V5, there was no paperwork history with the car at all. No service book, no owners manual (I've got a manual through the club). I think the car may have been shown at some time as all the brake calipers and disc bells have been painted hammerite metallic blue, engine compartment stunningly clean, etc. Steve thinks that the car may have been used as an Airpport taxi/limo in the distant past, and I would agree that there is something like this in its history, hence to odd electronic compass on the dashtop. Just wondered if any menbers might have come across the car in the past. Volvo have a record of the sale, but after that it vanished, they have no records of any service history at all!!

You can get a list of previous registered keepers from DVLA, I believe. (One came with the paperwork for my '68 Herald).
DG was a Gloucestershire registration, so the bit you do know sounds reasonable. Chris |

Feel free to ask for help again the next time you forget what car you have........... |

Alec I think i did tell you this at the time But the car was definetly originally purchased from olds of cirencester. The front number plate has the garage mark on it as i recall. Unfortunatly though Olds which was an excellent familly dealer which delt in Volvo for most of it's existance is no longer there. Possibly you may be able to find out some more imfo on the dealership by putting it in some kind of search engine. Sorry I could not of told you more when you bought the car. P.S I was unaware of the state of the gearbox plug sorry it is givving you so much greif. You can by genuine volvo replacments from dealers and they are not exspensive. Hope you are Enjoying the car on the whole. Steve
