P1800 door hunge shims
Yeah sorry fat fingers that should read hinge .... But can't change it now....getting used to, fiddling with and finding small issues with my new 1800 purchase, the one that's annoying me the most is the door fit driver side. There is a gap on the opposite side to the hinge when it shuts that at the top is to big so that the rubber on the door does not get a good seal on the body panel when shut. It's flush apart from that just looks like it needs shifting back a little. Trying to learn fast here but I believe shims are needed to go behind the hinge to move it backwards ????? If this is correct does anyone have any of these shims as I can't seem to locate any ... Or any other ideas welcome. As I don't intend to use it in the rain it's not critical but would just like it to be correct. Thanks KC

If you want to move the door back its not shims you want - they move the door outwards not backwards.
You need to take off the kick panel near the pedals and loosen the bolts which will give you some adjustment as the holes in the A post are larger than the hinge bolt shafts. Move the door back and tighten them up again. Best done with a friend to help but to be honest there isn't that much adjustment available - thatsone reason why so many 1800's have terrible door fit.
