They can also stick as many tickets as they like on and each one counts separately.

Thats disgusting this whole situation sucks .
Luckily the tax disc arrived the next day for us (I'm pretty certain that the PC's (Petty Civil Servants ) that stung us would of returned for another go

we have written in the hope that something can be done to cancel the fine
I'll keep you all posted

Another good one, i had a left hand drive vw so stuck the disc in the offside, oh no..disc must be in the nearside, right in your line of vision, i got away with a warning for it on condition i put it in the middle.
I had problems over the left hand-drive issue when we were swamped by the Viking raiders sorry DVLA enforecment agents. I had committed an evne worse sin. My left hand drive had a top tint as well. Without thinking I had placed the disc in the top right hand corner of the screen behind the tint. Despite it coming up as taxed they were ready to lift the car, fortunately I was there and moved the disc so it was visible. I was lucky to get away with it. I still keep the disc on the rhs and point out it would be an MOT failure on the lhs as it would be obstructing the wiped area (no stickers allowed there).

I'd just ignore the whole scenario and if and when it goes to court explain the situation. If they are still gonna be greedy and ask you to cough up all the fine, pay it £1 installments or don't pay at all.
