Default New to the forum and volvos..

Hello people, great lookin forum. I dont have a volvo - yet having been a bit of a 4x4 fan, but maybe buying a 1996 440 1.8 gs. Is there any known faults or problems I should be looking for. Any advice would be a great help.

usuall more service history the better check for gear sloppiness as gear bushes are prone to wear check for the bite of clutch as can be expensive to change also sighns of any leaks around the corner of radiator and at the back of engine as core plugs have a habbit of leaking most of all take it for a spin and check for rattles etc see if theres an issue with the bushes (lower arm etc) theese cars are pretty much bomb proof and could run for ever if looked after oh ps if heated seats make sure drivers works!!!!!!

Welcome to the forum Marmite - probably a good idea to move on from the 4x4's considering what the great and good are planning................
