Default V70 - do I or do I not?

So I have run two 945's for the last 10 years and now fancy a V70.
I am doing the right thing? ie will it be as good, reliable as the 945 or is it going to cost me a packet with no end of problems?
Reading some reviews and you think they were the pits with silly problems costing the earth to fix. (front suspension and electrics come to mind)
Got a 52 plate 2.4 SE (170) in mind and all details look OK but will decide at the w/end once I've seen it.
Any advise/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'd stick to the 900's..

You'll get a larger Road Tax bill with the new one.
Your fuel economy will not be that much better (in comparison to the cost of the newer car).

You'll be Front Wheel Drive with a transverse engine, and the increased service costs that will likely involve.

Not as solid as the 900's...
The boot exterior is plastic!!!

Thanks Des,
I have always thought that 'what do I get after the 940' as its is a great reliable 'tank'. At some stage I will have to bite the bullet so its a question of what to get IF I'd stay with Volvo's.
I think the tax will be the same so not worried about that, front /rear drive again ok to me, have driven a few V70's through work so like the way they drive. I have a v.good independent garage that I use so its 'unforseen' reliability costs I am worried about. Spoke to a mate in Sweden re them (common as muck over there) and he'd just been in a taxi who'd done 300+K with no problems (and I bet that was an auto).
Anyway will give it some more thought and decide later.
