I just tax for 6 month's, but after hearing that budget yesterday and him doubling tax on "gas guzzler's" as he put's it. But where does a 2.3turbo come in to it, if it more/less stay's the same then fine, but if it's going to double that's it.

How old is your T5?

If its before 03/2001 then it'll increase from £175 to £180 per year.

No

The £400 is for Band G cars which taxation band was only introduced from March 22 2006.

Cars built before this cannot be any higher than Band F.

Volvo have a number of new cars JUST in Band G, for example a MANUAL S60 T5 is in Band F but a Geartronic in Band G.

Same in the C70 range, manual JUST inside Band F, ALL Geartronics Band G. I assume Volvo will be slightly tweaking these models if they can.

No!
Its band G that that will increase to £400 and that is only for cars that are rated at over 225 G/KM for CO2 AND are registered after March 2006
