A/C Compressor changed in the nick of time
My A/C compressor has been noisy for ages (as the Video) so today I got it swapped and we saw it was a Zexel make and stamped with FoMoCo.
My a/c man said the Zexel's suffer with bad bearings so we got a brand-new Valeo compressor and fitted that. The noise: The old compressor was grumbling and was running hot ready to seize up, it made a mess of the drive belt too and this belt had only done 10K miles: The system was degassed and the gas 'wasted' into a recovery vessel. The system was hot-gas flushed and new gas was added and ran for testing and then wasted again, luckily no debris was found in the pipework, new oil fitted and finally filled with new unused gas. System is now running quiet and mega cold, thanks go to Cool Running services in Leicester, very professional with lots of experience.
