Brookhouse has brand new ones for similar money to having an old rad re cored. They're good.

Just to clarify, by good is that just the quality, or does that refer to everything, e.g. including the appearance being accurate etc? I ask since my rad is slowly loosing fins so will need re-coring or replacing in the next few years.

Thanks!

I haven't stood them side by side but it is a brass tanked radiator that is a reproduction of the original. Not something modern that has been made to fit. I bought an early type radiator (non expansion bottle). It has been fitted with the later, larger, top neck so Simon supplied it with a new top hose and matching thermostat housing.

I paid pretty much the same as I used to pay to get a new triple core fitted in an old rad. A lot of the old rads are starting to crack their tanks and necks. I found it increasingly hard to find a good core. And some kind soul nicked my stash of old radiators from the lockup which didn't help.
