Default On call message and door switches failures

Hi there,
Had on call service required message appear on my 2017 Volvo S60 at the same time as drivers and offside rear door, mirrors and window failed to work.
Quickly diagnosed as broken wire from door. Quickly checked and repaired in 20 minutes. Everything now working fine and service message disappeared.

Default On call service required message xc90 (fuse 14 fix)

Hi. I have a 2009 XC90. I read the posts below about dealing with the annoying ‘on call service required’ message. I have this (as my car battery died and evidently, it must have then used and depleted the back up on call battery - hence the message). I don’t use the service (not for 14+ years…I have a 2009 XC90). I tried the fuse 14 trick but didn’t work. Pls can I ask - when removing that fuse - should the engine is on, then kept on for a few mins, then replace? Or when the engine is off? I have tried both but the message persists, so I am assuming that I am doing it incorrectly. Seems everyone else had success with this fix. Thank you for your help.

I've got a 2006 and I've been told (by a reputable indie) that the battery is toast.

Replacement was I think £230 + VAT, plus labour to remove the dash.

Think I'll just click the button on the end of the stalk for now.

Have they tried to reset the on call battery, a thing which is done when a new battery is fitted? In all the cars I have seen with this problem since the late 1990's it has worked. The problem is a bug in the on call battery monitoring. the last one I did was in 2017 so its 6 years older of course.
