Ghost are utter rubbish (and not the only option) unless fitted properly, I have installed my own canbus immobilisers to other makes/models which are supplied from a factory who manufacture the ghost device underneath, there is a whole website showing you how to install and where to terminate onto the canbus for each vehicle.
So it's very easy for thieves to find out where they are installed and remove them by subscribing to this website.
You can fit the canbus immobilisers to Volvo's, the guides show you how to remove the side panel next to the gear knob tunnel, easy to fit but the buttons you can use are limited, usually brake pedal and accelerator pedal instead of steeing wheel or window buttons.
