Angry The wife has crashed the XC60

Seems she used a carpark to do some custom bodywork down the side of the car! Very badly dented and scratched I am told. Any advice on repairers, going to have to be an insurance claim, am in London. Orpington Volvo is closest.

My sincere sympathy for the terrible news of your wife rearranging the slick flowing lines of a perfectly formed work of art.

Sorry I can't help with repair advise but I know a good lawyer as I am sure you would want to file for a divorce on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour!

Just kidding. Hope your good lady is not too shaken by this, but enough for her to concentrate a little harder next time.

Good luck

If it's an insurance job, then you may have little choice in the matter and it'll be carted off to the nearest insurance approved bodyshop.

However if you do it yourself, have a gander at the recommended garages section on the Honest John website. Chances are all Orpington Volvo will do is ship it out to their nearest local bodyshop anyway..

I wouldnt trust anyone but a volvo approved bodyshop , of which any dealer will either have or have access to ... There are some very special repair processes on the later volvos . Also if you get problems in a few years then you have some comeback ..

Yes insurance company tried hard to get me to go to their garage but I insisted on Volvo which they have now agreed to.

If memory serves me right, you are entitled to, by law, to choose what garage does any repairs, as long as it meets manufacturers spec.

That’s correct but your insurance company have preferred repairers so you could lose benefits like a courtesy car whilst yours is being repaired at one specified by you.

Fair enough. But I would think that if one would choose the dealer the car was sold from, you would get a loaner. At least I know I would..... but I do have a great dealer.

this is true.but at the end of the day the customer must be satisfied with the finished job.so if you dont like where its being repaired go over the car with a fine tooth comb and if its not perfect knock it back.

peter.
