First Volvo!!

Hello.

Last week I picked a 54 plate V50 2.0 diesel that needs some TLC.
it has 165000K on the clock.

my 1st Volvo and I am really impressed, my 1st Diesel car too, needs a front wishbone bush, discs and pads all round, and a rear Hum (local friendly mechanic did that for me)

my dislikes..... The stereo, CD changer refuses to read CD's.... and from what I have read I will have to spend at least £250 for a bluetooth/usb upgrade.

I don't know if it's a Diesel thing but it feels very lumpy on startup, always strs 1st time and goes well enough, economy is about 36-38 mpg around town, as I also have a company car any jobs can wait till after Xmas when funds allow, I'll get to cleaning out the EGR and Throttle body as I have read these jobs are a must.

as for the audio I used a FM Transmitter on my 2005 s40 and fill that up with mp3 albums and also u can connect your phone thru it , only about 20 pounds or so..

Hi, your first Volvo? So what took you so long?

Funnily enough, I've been out of Volvo ownership for about ten years but have also just bought a 2.0D V50.

My excuse is that I've just got myself a labrador and he refuses to be driven in anything other than a Volvo estate!
