Can I just check: does this mesh cleanout fix apply to the 165BHP or is it only the later 180BHP?

The video is a 163 so it definitely applies to that.

just a quick update/suggestion: I did this job today and ran out of carb cleaner! Apart from it being the EGR that was the problem on my car (163BHP D5 V70) rather than this valve, I had to substitute some other cleaner because I was half way through the job just as the cleaner ran out doing the EGR pipe.

On a hunch, I tried label remover. This is very good at dissolving adhesives, but won't harm plastic, or you - it's sold in stationery catalogs and comes in a little aerosol with a stiff bristled nylon brush through which the remover is sprayed.

It's *great* for cleaning the little mesh screen in this valve, and for tidying up deposits on the mating surfaces of the EGR pipes too. And you can look closely at what you're doing without being completely monged by the fumes that come off carb cleaner - a headache I can definitely do without.

Hi all. I know it is old thread, but.... Gone clean mine today, cleaned contacts with contact cleaner, sensor and mash with brake cleaner. Leave everything out for about half an hour or more when having dinner, came back, put everything together. Went for a test drive and it didn't go well. Now I don't have power at all after about 2500-3000 rpm. And I got message engine service required. Did I make it wrong somehow or I should look elsewhere??

Make sure you have installed the pipes correctly and not the wrong way round.

I took a picture before, so there is no mistake. I will be so happy if I changed the hose places when checking tomorrow, but that's not gonna happen

I manage to lose one bolt, I put it somewhere and can't find it anywhere. But this can't be the cause of trouble.

P. S. Problem solved. Left side pipe was out on the entrance of plastic tube in rubber hose. So I put it in and put zip tie around it. Now is all back to normal. I can't tell the difference after job done cause I drove another car for a few days but seems a little bit better on small revs.
