in the owner's manual it is said that cars with fuel heaters have the following sticker on the fuel door.
volvo fuel heater.jpg this image is supposed to be shown on the driver display when the fuel heater is on: logo chauffage volvo.jpg I have neither and my preconditioning works very well indeed. I have also no noise and no fumes coming from he front wheel, so, to my knowledge my car has an electric aux. heater, the infamous HVCH. |

Can anyone confirm what when it's cold enough to warrant using parking climate (on a T8) to reduce wear and tear? Presumably if the car is used for lots of short journeys (Ie.getting the best fuel consumption on electric) then it's more worthwhile than on longer journeys. Thanks

Pre conditioning
Pre conditioning does several things on a T8 and one of the most important is heating up the batteries.
Batteries really don't like being cold and heating them up gives a longer range and life out of the batteries. Remote start on a non T8 without an aux heater is just that - remote start. It puts on the seats, steering wheel and screen demist. I do use remote start quite frequently - just 5 minutes of running is enough to warm the engine a bit, heat the seats and clear the screen. |
