Handle - Different colour Price - Different on the screen Name above the handle - Different also. Usually says "Diesel" ... Human error happens. Don't take it out on Volvo for charging to fix YOUR mistake. Last edited by JamesV70R; Nov 15th, 2011 at 16:59. |

I'll admit that yes, £800 is way too much. I'd understand if the fuel pump was damaged etc, but thats modern cars for you.
Simple fix as always: Pay attention to what you're putting in the car. I'm sure the OP has probably learnt his VERY painful lesson though! |

Why leave the forum because of this? It's not like anyone on the forum advised you badly. Very odd.

£800 seams cheap to replace the fuel system, pipes, rails etc that is recommended to be changed in such contamination cases (just think of the cost of a new diesel pump small change really).... the question is just did it require to be done if the car was never started ... surely there is a better alternative ... even if it is a main dealer .... but it does smack a bit of crooked smile and hand rubbing ..... now what can I do you for sir!
And dealers wonder why people/customers go to indi's ....

Definately a complete rip-off if the car was never started or the ignition wasn`t switched on!
Draining a tank is relatively easy and should only incur a couple of hours labour at most.

The latest petrol engined cars have a tank neck / filler inner diameter that will not accept the larger diesel nozzle too.
