Seatbelt buckle and SRS-00D0 error
Hello all
I’m getting an ‘Urgent...SRS’ dash message and a repeating error code of SRS-00D0. I can clear the code with my Autel reader but it comes straight back suggesting a hard fault in the car. The code indicates a fault with the driver seat belt buckle. On starting up, the seatbelt indicator and warning chime both show and clear as soon as the driver belt buckle engages. This suggests some part of the buckle is working OK. Does anyone know if there are 2 microswitches inside the buckle? I’ve checked the contacts on the plug under the seat (battery disconnected) and it’s open circuit on both pins with buckle in or out. Is the warning chime using a circuit closed to earth through the buckle mount when the belt goes in and the SRS module using a closed by switch signal maybe? I can’t see how the warning chime responds to the buckle latching otherwise. Should have tested/compared the passenger side one while I was there…. Next step might be to replace the buckle with a scrapyard donor but need to be sure that it tests OK before buying. I’ve seen other posts about CEM errors in earlier models being to blame and it being a VIDA/DICE only job to clear them. This might be the case here but I want to try and rule out the actual belt buckle first. Thanks Garteh 2002 V70 D5 |

Had the srs service urgent and yellow warning triangle on the dash on my old 2002 P2 and traced it (with Vida) to the drivers seat belt stalk. Inside there are 2 wires coming from an encapsulated block, I suspect there’s a canbus signal on them, one for the seatbelt warning and one for the airbag system.
Couldn’t prove anything or trace any fault, however a replacement stalk cured it. |

Thanks Reggit. Have a good friendly scrapyard so will go for a replacement and see if that sorts it.
