Unhappy Volvo V60 D3 Fuel Econo Bad

Hi All

Need help on what I need to do to achieve anywhere near what the car should be rated for (6.0L average combined fuel). Volvo V60 2012 D3 2.0L 5cyl

I'm not a heavy driver, I use cruise control 80% of my driving. 85% of my driving consists of driving at 80km/h in 6th gear. My instant fuel shows good ratings 2-4L/100km when doing so.

I can get if I'm lucky 850ish-900KM out of a 70L tank. (not good)

I currently have a stage 1/2 tune, DFP completely removed, EGR still there but has a blanking plate. (Both have been coded out - I've been told) no limp mode!

Before these mods, my average was 8.3L/100KM, my current is 6.9-7L/100KM

For those that have tuned their cars, is it worth taking the blanking plate out and just coding out to let the gases flow? Will that help the car?
Can you program just to bypass 100%?

Really love the car, but honestly, at this rate a Golf GTI/R would get better fuel than this
Thanks in advance!

40MPG for a volvo estate sounds good to me, I would never get that from a V70, average 37mpg if I'm lucky (7.6L/100km)
