Default Volvo XC90 Gear position sign not appearing on Dashboard

Hi All,
I bought 2010 Volvo xc 90 from a salvage with and accident at the rear. when it cam its not starting and the gear position is not showing on the dashboard, it on only shows a dash. try to diagnose and its not giving me any codes or any faults. Can anybody help me on what to do.

Use VIDA and read the gear selector data

You will need VIDA to work on these cars.
Generic code readers do not give you the detail you need
