Default Wheel Bearings

As you know I am considering selling my XC90. It needs a new belt etc which I have already.

My indi has said that if it's the wheel bearing like I think it is this is 250 to replace. Is there a good OEM replacement rather than paying the 250 for the original Volvo?

I managed to get an SKF bearing at my local motor factors; I think I paid about £125, a couple of years ago.
SKF are one of the best bearings available and the company was responsible for founding the Volvo brand in the 1920’s

+1 for SKF, one of the only non gen brands I would fit to my car. Autodoc has good prices but a week or so wait to get them.

I just use a local lad in Felling called Ian Simpson. He is an old fashioned mechanic and is sound. Never seems to overcharge me. Might ask him to take a look at it to see if it is bearing as I have said.

Only 1 car in my list left to look at a Ford Galaxy with a powershift. I wonder whether should just keep the XC90 and see what needs changing.

The ford galaxy will probably need a new £5000 gearbox , people know when to get rid of them .
