Default Tyre Test

There are many questions on what is the best tyre, auto express has done a tyre with all the top branded tyres.

What surprised me about the noise was even though run flats weren't included, in a different test the run flats were over 4.5 db quieter, to give you an idea 3db less means half the volume.

Heres the test.

I wouldn't think that fitting a tyre designed for a heavier load wouldn't affect things too much. Although they are likely to be a heavier build and may transmit a little more of the road to the car. Anyone got info on this possibility?

However, I would say that fitting/using tyres with a lighter load limit (87 89 etc) may be pertinent if involved in an accident.
