Default Just wondering...

Years ago, when I had time, I bought a spare cylinder head for my 340, and spent many a happy hour skimming it, lapping the valves etc. I still remember the satisfaction, starting the car after the swap and it burst into life at the first touch of the key.

Has anyone got a spare 340 1.4 B14E head that they don't want? It would be useful to have one in standby. No hurry whatsoever, I could collect if it's in an area I might pass.

Not too old and worn would be great. And sensible price paid.

The answer from here is unfortunately no, but it may help to clarify which variant.

Keep an eye on ebay as they occasionally crop up on there, there was a 1.6 diesel head last year!

I think I have a head spare. It'll probably need some attention to the studs for the waterpump (standard issue B14 problem!), but should be sound otherwise.

cheers

James

Re the two posts above. Major thanks to you both. I will be in touch later this year unless that is going to be inconvenient?

Best wishes

Joe
