Isn't the service schedule supposed to be 12 mths or 18k miles, whichever comes first?
Be extra sure to check about status of any warranties or future goodwill as it looks like the 1st and 3rd services were very late, based on mileage.

As far as I understand, yes.

But it's been serviced 3 times in the first 2 years 5 months of it's life, so although it's behind on mileage it's well ahead on age.

The first service was at 11 months old, the 3rd at 2 years 5 months old.

It's a Volvo Selekt approved used car, so will come with a 12 month unlimited mileage warranty. After that I'll be on my own. Would early service history on a 4 year old car (purchased as Volvo approved) sway them either way on a 4 year old 70,000 mile car?

Out of interest, do Volvo offer extended warranties for vehicles older than 4 years? Everything I read online suggests 4 years old is the oldest they go to.

I bought my XC70 as a Selekt car 3 years old.
It came with a one year Volvo warranty.

I’ve since renewed the Volvo warranty twice. The price went up from about £600 to £750 iirc from my 1st and 2nd year’s cover. I guess it’s just an insurance policy with a higher risk as the car is a year older.

Reading the bumpf I seem to remember I can keep going until the car is 10 years old or 100k. Lord knows what the price will be by then and if i’ll continue it. Just a game of economics and crystal balls!

So my process is dump 3, add 4, mix, dump 4, add 4, mix, set level (dump approx 1).

Changes 75% of ATF in one hit for a sensible cost.

Can't take credit for this as it comes from Yuri's Volvosweden vid!
If you're doing the gearbox oil change yourself do not confuse the Fluid with ATF!! Look at the information on this forum, enjoy your car, cheeres JDmac.

Sigh. It appears all of this was a waste of time, really.

The car was lovely on the inside, and certainly drove well enough.

But the outside was in poor condition, really.

I don't think it had a panel without a scratch on (and I mean proper scratches), and the nearside front door had been repaired appallingly.

The guy who had it somehow managed to get significant scratches in the most bizarre places. For example a long horizontal scratch running nearly the full width of the boot lid about an inch above the rear bumper.

Both offside door edges were badly chipped.

Both front wings had scratches where they meet the bonnet.

The guy is going to look at what he can do but I think I've seen enough to put me off. It's obviously not been cared for very well in the last 3 years.

Shame. One careful doctor owner, they said?
Out of curiosity where was this one being sold by?

Thanks. I've been looking out for one and didn't come across this one.
Good luck with your continued search.
