144 b20a water water everywhere! help me im drowning

hello again
from one problem to another with all the recent

i have noticed quite a large amount of water in the driverside passenger and drivers footwell ive had a bit of a feel about and suspect it getting in through the the rear floor heating ducting its just a hunch. if it is do you know where the water could be getting in the system and how to remedy this problem

ive just had the same problem.
it was the sunroof drain hose. it became disconnected from the drain and the water was running down the widscree vent ducts to the lowest point which is the footwell vent ducts.
remove the A piller cover by had and you will see the hose. make sure the drain is clear before reconnecting the hose.
its that or the evaporator drain

i dont have a sunroof so i dont think its that thanks for your response though. as for the coolant not sure, checked expansion tank no loss there so unsure if its that, if it is coolant then what could be causing it.

If I park on an upward slope, no water in the passenger footwell, if I park downhill on on the flat - it pours in.....the result of a failing windscreen seal / corrosion around the windscreen aperture

one way of seeing where water is coming from is to pour small amount over the windscreen, starting from the bottom. If you're not too fussy you can use food dye or flavouring in the water to be certain

another way is to puff talcum powder all over the inside and see where the trail of water runs from / to

used to run old Citroens so water ingress is second nature!!!! and I knew it wasn't the cooling system!!! (air cooled)

Check the front and rear windows. They can leak badly. And if the boot seal is really damaged, you can get water under the rear seat. The wheel well, just above the shock absorbers can be completely rusted through. That can cause a lot of water.

Get the floor matting out. You will need to dry it anyway. Maybe you can find a clue of the origins. And you can see if there is severe rust damage.

If it's coolant, it could be a leaking heater matrix. (You said it seemed to come from the heater outlet, which is what made me wonder).

Assuming you are using correct coolant in your cooling system, not just water, you should be able to smell or dip your finger in and taste whether it's coolant or rainwater.

Check the drain holes in the sills, the water drains from the heater intake, through the box section behind the kick panels and out through the sills. If the drain holes are blocked the sills fill up and spill into the car.

Doors can also fill with water if the drain holes are blocked.
