Default 164/140 Interior door trim (chrome) restore

The interior door trims on my car has the chrome (paint, I think) flaking off.
Can this be fixed up with chrome paint?

It would be hard with a spray can, is their a type of pen like thing that has paint in it that can be used?

The strips are not made of metal.
I think it is some sort of plastic.

Have you restored your door trims?

cheers

I haven't restored my door trims, but pens like these are reasonably cheap and may be worth a go on some scrap to see what the finish is like and how well it sticks first!

Hi, I have the same thing happening on my door cards as well. Please let us know if you have any good results using the pens.

I'll try to look for a marker pen locally this weekend.

Whay is the best way to take a card of a door without damaging anything?

A tool like this one helps....

http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...ed=0CDwQ8wIwAQ

Basically I remove all the door furniture, then use that tool, (or anything thin and flat) to work off the plastic clips on the side and the bottom, (the ones on the bottom you have to be careful with as if your door cards are anything like mine they may well be a bit rotten). I don't think you can access the clips at the top, but they just pulled away easily on mine when I took the card off.

I hope that helps.

I've used chrome adhesive tape, gives a nice even finish
