Default MY 2015 D5 V60/XC60, V70/XC70 Recall Notice Received

Had a letter from Volvo today confirming my 2015 XC60 D5 was being recalled, but this affected V70/XC70 2015 D5 models also...

"Vehicles may experience a fuel shortage even though fuel gauge shows sufficient fuel in the tank".

"Vehicles involved have a saddle type fuel tank with a pump to move fuel from one side of the tank to the other. In some instances, the pump may not deliver sufficient fuel volume".

"As a temporary measure until your vehicle is repaired, please ensure the fuel level is kept above a third of a tank, (3 dashes on the fuel gauge indicator)."

As all the cars involved in the recall have been built for many years it seems odd.

I guess that instead of using tried and tested component a change was made. Probably to save money. A false economy if this is the case.

Car went in last Friday and work was complete in under the hour - great excuse to get a mini valet done at the same time, for free!

Default Repair Available?

Is a repair available now? The letter just says they are working on the problem. Having to keep filling the car up when it gets to 1/3rd full is getting tedious now.

I called my dealer right away when I got the letter and booked it in. I haven't had to mess around with filling up as they described in the letter, that would be a pain!
