Question 2.0i Engine upgrades / preventative maintenance

I'm just wondering about preventative maintenance of parts I could do in my Engine bay whilst upgrading at the same time.

I'm swapping to a K&N air filter today but other things I've been wondering about are upgraded fuel injectors and ignition wires.

Are these easy things to change on the 2.0i and what parts are compatible etc?

Thanks.

Upgrading fuel injectors?? there's no point unless your remapping and turbocharging for power gains, there's no good injecting 'more' fuel on a standard ECU map..

What you could do is have yours sent away to be cleaned to factory spec, there used to be someone on here offering that service but I don't think he does it now.

Ignition wires (HT leads) are a dubious area to upgrade, a lot of people think that thicker coloured wires are better but they can offer more electrical resistance than the factory leads and produce a weaker spark!

So are you saying it might be worth reconditioning the injectors but not upgrading them? And the ignition wires are a waste of time?

Bear in mind with the ignition wires I'm looking to replace for preventative maintenance reasons, what would you recommend? Just OEM replacements or any other options?

Cheers
