Superb brightness - last 6 months to a year - but absolutely amazing beam strength.

Order 2 sets - replace a set as the bulb blows.

For the sake of three pints every six months I'd rather have great lights
are they good for S60..

I have some of those philips extreme vision bulbs in my previous car and now my new car, and I love them.

Before I had standard bulbs and the extremes make such a difference.

I do find that I get flashed now, the lights are correctly aligned so other drivers must notice that they are brighter.

I'm alittle worried about the life span (and cost) of them as they are wired up as daytime running lights, so I think that after winter I'll swap them for standard bulbs over the summer.

Overall I'm more than pleased with them and I will be using them (or similar ones) in the future. Yes they cost more, but if it gives me a bit more vision on the road and a few more seconds to react to something then its money well spent.

Default Adjust the dipped beam level

I agree with swedish&german. The dipped beam on almost all Volvos I have had were set too low in the factory. Park the car about 10 meters from a wall and adjust the dipped beam on both sides up about 4cms. Just a tweak is all. That improves illumination all round, in particular of the nearside road markings / kerbs. I have never had an MOT failure or been flashed by oncoming traffic. I also use Osram nightbreaker unlimited bulbs which help a bit, but not as much as raising the beam.

I fitted a set of Osram Night Breakers which are great. Just had one go after about 20,000 miles which seemed a lot better than I was expecting

I also fitted the Nightbreaker Unlimited to my 2005 S60 at the same time as polishing the headlight lenses.

The difference really is night and day although I've read the lifespan aint great and that's pretty annoying as it's really a bumper off job to replace a bulb, not exactly doable on the road....

Well, the Philips are now fitted (£20 to fit by my Volvo franchise dealer, saved me fluffing around taking bits off etc) and they have made a big difference!

Well worth it

Oh and I changed the number plate lights as one had blown. Torx screws? really Volvo?
Anyway, both changed for white LEDs much better, but one of the bayonet holders had snapped, miso it's only held in by gravity lol
