Default Screen Washer Filter

Hi,

New member

I have just got myself a V70 2009 after wanting one for many years.

Can anyone direct me towards a thread which might help me out regarding the windscreen washers. Mine just dribble out hardly making it onto the screen. I assume it will be a blocked filter in the system. Before I start dismantling everything in the vicinity I was hoping this may have been discussed previously. I had tried searching but in vain.

Thanks

Hi,

It won't be the filter as, if the system is anything like that on V90 etc then there is a filter to the tank which can gung up.

No, your issue is likely to be either the pump, the pipework being blocked, a one-way vale or pipe connector being blocked or the actual nozzles themselves.

Start with the easiest items to reach, clean and check.

I had a similar issue. There was a sludgy residue at the bottom of the water reservoir which needed to be hosed out. Prior to doing this I had to replace a couple of the nozzles on the bonnet that got irreparably clogged by the sludge. It's worth disconnecting the hose at strategic points to see where the blockage lies but whatever it's been blocked by/where it's blocked the source of the problem is the washer reservoir.
