Question Engine oil choice

Looking for oil for a 2L petrol C30, castrol always volvos reccomended brand, handbook shows 5W30 , but which of these 2 in the pic, would be better, and whats the volvo recom service interval on oil for this engine?

The Magnatec one comes up on the Halfords reccomended list...

yes 5w/30 is the correct grade , service interval is 12000 or 12500 depending on age .

opie oils do reasonably priced service kits - including top end Castrol oils. Plus you get 10% off at the checkout if you enter VOLVO in the promo code bit.

Search them on this forum - they're nocking around somewhere...

Comma X-Tech also meets the various specs and is good value - circa £25 for 5L. This goes in all of my fleet...

Thanks for the replies, went with the magnatec as it sounds like its better for short runs, has anyone noticed engines eating a lot more oil during v cold weather startups ? volvos handbook seems to suggest this is normal,, also whats the difference between the C3 and A5 grade of the castrol magnatec oil ?

c3 is normally 12000 service intervals and A5 18000 intervals .They are oil quality grades .
