its a 1989 non turbo SE. I can't see why they wont fit, but I just want to make sure.

At this point, if anyone has any second hand or cheaper ones they'd sell me speak up please!

I think the front one is a direct replacement but for the rear you will need to fit some extra brackets to the suspension arms as they don't come in the kit. The bracket can be taken of a car that already has a rear antiroll bar on it. Give them a ring or contact IPD to get some info they ought to be able to help.

I wanted these bars for my car but couldn't afford them at the time. I found that some early 760's had 24mm front bars so I found one of those and fitted the largest standard rear one, (19mm I think) to the rear. I didn't pay much for them but the front ones aren't easy to get.

I clicked buy. I'll have to find some of those brackets by the sounds of things. Do you know which cars were fitted with them?

I'm pretty sure anything that had a rear bar will fit, Find a Turbo 940 in a yard and grab them from there.
Fitting the 24mm bar on my car improved it a lot, the only thing I noticed was that the rear wheels picked up a bit more on tight bends, that was with the 19mm, so a 25mm one might be worse.
Small price to pay for the much better stability and turn in though.

All sedans have the brackets, that is if the IDP bar uses the same mounting.
The diff set up on the liveaxle is the same for all models 740,760,940.
have a look here http://forums.turbobricks.com/showth...ight=rear+sway
most wagons do not have a rear sway, so maybe a 19mm rear would be better than a 25mm, I currently am running a 16mm.

They arrived today, and look rather nice Front is on, just waiting for the control arms to be ready to refit. Pictures will be in showroom when its done.

My set came with the little plates to fit the rear bar.

Do you have lower / stiffer springs and revalved shocks on it already? If not...I'd look into doing those too. Just doing bars may make the handling a little odd. Ryan's car has Spax springs, Bilstein shocks and the iPd bars, and it's just about perfect - the ride is still decent, but it's controlled enough to put the FWD stuff in its place

cheers

James

Thanks, I'll look into it. Everything is standard but it is in good working order, its got a nivomat rear end. I can imaging its going to bob up and down a bit with the soft standard suspension? could be interesting lol.

My car seems ok with the 24mm front bar and 19mm rear although it's got slightly stiffer diesel front springs on it as well.
By increasing the antiroll bar diameter you stiffen the ride a bit anyway, might be worth trying it first. Made the dash rattle on my car where it didn't before !
Glad to hear you got the brackets with the bars, saves clambering round in a yard for some.

The reason I mention it is that it's pretty popular in the 300 series world to fit the one huuuuge front ARB you can get and nothing else...which isn't a happy situation. You want a little bit of bar, a little bit of spring, and a little bit of shock

We need to get Ryan's car back in action so we've got a rolling demo of what I think is the perfect (without going crazy on price) 'fast road' setup for a 7/940.

cheers

James
