Default Parking brake module failure

Hi all,

Looks like I've had the parking brake module fail on my MY12 V60 d5. Essentially the left motor is no longer operating.

I know it's not the wiring or motor as I've hooked a battery to the PBM wiring pins and it has operated the left motor, so it must be the PBM itself.

Can I just swap out the PBM?

Or does this need coding?

Thanks!

Hi,
Snap, I have exactly the same problem. No voltage at the plug so looking into the EPB module.

After a lot of diagnosis that pointed to the module, mine turned out to just be the motors. Got new motors next day from PFS parts.

If it is the module itself then it needs coding and is around a £350-400 job, excluding motors.

I spoke to some garages and they think the motors get water in and short the module (normally nearside), so it's better to replace both motors and the module.
