Default Rear wash, wipe, locks not working

Car is new to me, tried cleaning all contacts, fuses and installing new s/h REM, still no joy.

Any ideas? Checked CEM for any corossion, and fuses under bonnet

Checked all fuses, and a replacement REM, cleaned all relay contacts.

Then read that the wiring loom often gets cut near the tailgate hinge so pulled that out and checked it and it all looks good...

So scratching my head now, any ideas? it was quite cheap so maybe I got what I paid for.

The wiring may look good, however, prove continuity of the hinge wires.

Talking to a Volvo expert this morning, ERM's do not need to be re programmed but you do need an REM that has come off the same specification of car with the same options, so getting a second hand unit is a game of chance as those details are not on the ERM. The part number and serial number don't tell you if it's an XC70 or a 2.4 V70 with a few options.

I'll get mine on diagnostics soon but with the wrong ERM it's likely it will just say there is no communication with the ERM. None of the three I have tried work. So searching for one from a crashed/scrap 2.4 140
