Default FIXED: Anti-Skid/Brake Assist Msgs/ABS Sensor Code

New to me car, slowly working my way over it to fix/sort things.

On driving, and getting up to speed (50+) car would generate ANTI-SKID and BRAKE ASSIST messages, and turn off the ABS (putting ABS light up on the dash). Also checking DTCs, told me a problem with Left Front Speed Sensor.

Speed Sensor or Reluctor Rings I thought.

Jacked up, FL wheel off, and to my shock and surprise, I see the driveshaft bolt just sitting there inside the hub, completely unscrewed from the driveshaft!

For good measure checked the condition of the speed sensor (OK) and the reluctor ring (OK).

Screwed in the driveshaft bolt, torqued it up, put wheel back on and then car went on an in laws round trip visit of 100 miles. Not a peep from the Messages and no DTCs. Would surmise that the driveshaft was sliding in and out of the hub whilst driving causing the speed sensor to "lose contact" with the reluctor ring. (Note: new driveshaft bolt/s on the way)

Would also advise to source a new bolt, these are the stretch type and also smear with grease from the CV hub, good to replace with new when found them loosened

Bolt drive shaft – wheel hub, front
Stage 1: Torque to 35 Nm
Stage 2: Tighten/rotate 90°

Bolt drive shaft – wheel hub, version with rubber cone: Torque to 50 Nm
Bolt drive shaft – wheel hub, rear: Torque to 50 Nm
