Default Early boot handle refurb

Hi,

Has anyone refurbed an early boot handle? I’ve stripped one, it’s going off for rechroming, but I am missing the number plate light inserts and lenses.

Would someone with an early handle take a pic of the number plate lights please and send one over? I’ll probably have to get something made!

Thanks

Is it the dual handle or aeroplane style boot handle you have?

It’s the early aeroplane style, with the catch release being the round Volvo symbol with an arrow

I thought you were going to make some? I should think many small luminaires could be adapted to fit. The glass lens might be a bit difficult, but I should think it would be possible to cut down a couple of sections of Perspex tube to fit now you know what it looks like.

Lay some clear perspex in the hole, use a heat gun to allow gravity to form it/them.

I used some cheap bulb holders from car builder solutions:
