Came across this plugin connector while I was digging the PAM out, didn't seem to have anything to connect to. Any idea what it is??

I'm just looking into the re-coding issue if I buy an Ebay one. Going to contact my local independent to see if they will oblige and at what cost. Cheers.
The PAM from eBay that I fitted to my 2006 V70 is 31341383 and it works OK - the same p/n I would guess to work on your XC70.

I don't know where that plug goes, but there are only 2 plugs on the PAM, the black one goes to the sensors in the bumper, the brown one is the data cable to power & CANBUS.

Have you done a scan with VIDA yet ?

Not yet no, don't know anyone who has it. If the replacement PAM doesn't work then the local indy (with VIDA) is my last resort. My regular garage has a generic type reader but couldn't access the Park Assist as apparently it's an aftermarket fitment.

Park assist is likely OE and not aftermarket.

I imagine the reason why he can't read faults on it is because VIDA is the only tool which is capable of communicating with all the modules (that I know of anyway)

Skandix parts list shows you need part number 31341383
This is for 2001-2007 XC 70 from MY 2005 onwards.
Also states it needs software to be loaded, the earlier version did not.

The one that's on it (and was previously working) is p/n ECU 30765690. It will be interesting to see if it works when it arrives. I'm not full of confidence......

Just a thought, the reversing lights are working?

You have checked for a switched live or negative at the PAM unit?

The internal isolator switch hasn't been turned off?

Hi, yes reversing lights both working, haven't checked for power as don't know which of the three wires is the live, but the system was playing up for ages before expiring completely so don't think it's a power issue, don't know if it's got an isolator switch- if I could find that I'd switch it all off to get rid of the message every time I switch it on! Cheers.
