Its my 4th Volvo not my 4th 850R, I have always wanted to own an 850R and when this one came up i bought it.....Simples. You are entitled to your opinion and i respect that not everyone has the same taste and does different things to their cars etc etc The car is totally reversable and refitting an interior isnt a hard task, All the original fittings are still there its only nuts and bolts and a few clips its just something thats not in my interest to do. I dont regret stripping the car out nor that im going to lose on what i payed for it, Its my choice and my money afterall. I hope this is the end of this subject on this thread, If it concerns you so much please make a new thread in an off topic section of the forum and discuss it freely. |

I'm not being pedantic here as I genuinely don't know but looking through the site apparently the 850R came with a M59 gearbox with a viscous coupling so isn't the M56 gearbox a backward move.

An M56 allows the fitment of a proper LSD which I think was the intention in this case. (So not necessarily a backwards step).

what diff would fit the M56?
Plus BL, how hard would it be to put the headlining back in? Plus I take it the load cover/dog guard etc went with the other bits. |

thanks for the link, I take it this is a gearbox out job to install a Quaife (or Queef!) or sim LSD?
Sorry BL for the off topic but I'm looking at the bigger picture here, as I am keeping one eye open for a nice 850R but would also like to guild the lilly. |

I would imagine that yes, it will be a gearbox off job. You would have to remove both driveshafts at least so I would budget for new driveshaft inner boots (might as well while you can get to them) as well.

Headlining isnt an issue, Its mainly held on by clips around the roof Its fine, Your asking valid questions which im more than happy to answer. The gearbox would have to be removed to fit an LSD but the best option is to buy a good replacmement M56 and fit the LSD to that then just swap the boxes over. |
