I have a now previous version of the V60, blonde seats and 'Mokka' (not quite cream) and it does give a much roomier brighter feel. Had the same in my Rover, not sure I can own a car now without a pale interior given how it makes it a much nicer place to be.

Dads BMW has blonde seats and black carpets. Sensible, but does detract from the look a bit in my opinion.

I will likely get a seat of black car mats for winter to prevent any damage from water or dirt.

I put a muddy bike in the back a lot, was always questioned why I didn't go for a dark interior because of that (so many more cars with dark oppressive interiors) but with a big plastic sheet I have never had a problem protecting it.

When looking for my xc90 I was more than willing to pay for blonde.

What boring people they must be to drive around in black, it’s like been in a hurse!

I have a sunroof, beige leather and brushed silver, lovely!

My current and previous two Volvo's have had all-beige carpetting, and they didn't look scruffy even after 5-7 years of use in each.

So long as you take reasonable care, like using mats when carrying dirty loads (such as dhr90's bike), and use common sense, the interior can be kept looking nice. It's not rocket science.

The blond/blond carpet does lift the interior, and as said previously, the black carpet only hides the dirt.

I bought one with a black interior for a change. I've had grey, cream and teal interiors on various cars over the last twenty years and this is the first black. I did check first to see whether it was really really black, but the Volvo isn't like a coalmine during and electricity cut, because the leather seems to be slightly grey and the panoramic roof lets in plenty of light.
If it had been available at the time, I would have probably chosen the maple brown exterior colour and tan leather.

My next car, whatever that will be, will probably be completely different to the Volvo and I do fancy something with two tone upholstery, as offered by JLR and others. Ergonomics and the overall package are more important than interior trim colours though.

Since having the Volvo, I've changed a Honda CR-V with very light tan interior for a silver one with black interior. The light tan does not go with light silver exterior paint, which is what I fancied. So I've gone from no black interior in twenty years [on my personal daily drivers] to black on both in a short space of time. Both have large panoramic roofs to save the day though.

Kinda dumb commenting about people’s tastes, but ok- it’s a thing of upbringing.. For eg. bege leather w. silver inserts is very much a redneck combo IMO.. but if that makes your life “livelier” - that’s fine with me.

And it’s a hearse. Actually, they mostly have bright interiors.. just like coffins too You know.. to make them look..livelier

I've always had black leather interiors other than a grey 5 series a few years back but I've gone for blond this time. I sat in a Osmium Grey car with charcoal interior as that's what I planned to order and it just seemed too dark so went with blond instead.
I'm still not 100% sure I made the right choice (I work in construction and sometimes I'm a bit scruffy depending on what I've been doing) but this thread has helped convince me. Anyway I'll find out in 10 days time when I pick it up

Interesting chrome beneath the doors on the exterior (second) pic. Is that a third party body kit?

It is an Inscription model with running boards.
