Thanks chaps
Phone all to Marshall’s Nottingham has sorted iPhone app and the cars on call. So that’s all set up ok. So that’s breakdown sorted too.
Ordered SIM card for the car too off eBay for the WiFi.
I’ll clean up the ball of the towbar before Alko hitch goes anywhere near it.

Also before I brought this car I looked at the ocean race car, it was a d4 and I didn’t like the colour and wheels. But the boot had some nice nets and torch.

Can these be fitted

I tow. A lot.
I had a large caravan behind Range Rovers, Discovery [MkI] and a Land Cruiser when I was younger but none had or needed a friction stabiliser. When these are used, specifically the one that clamps the towball, it should be clean and grease free. Mine was always greased, because I towed other heavier duty trailers as well on the same tow vehicles.

Currently I have two IW 14ft trailers, a twin axle dropside and a triple livestock box. Both regularly loaded to the maximum of 3.5 tons gross and no stabilisers. The triple actually has a tare of 1.2 tons, so a [moving] cargo maximum of 2.3 tons. They need the hitch and the brake neck regularly greased to reduce friction and minimise wear.

Modern cars have anti-sway software built in and automatically actualted when necessary. In nearly 50 years of towing commercially I have never had a snaking incident even though I often tow with trailers weighing up to 1.75 times that of the towing vehicle.
The trailers with the worse propensity for snaking are lighter ones with a large side area. Caravans. Yet commercial drivers need to pass a specific towing test these days. Do caravan drivers?

New reulations came in that requires a test to tow trailers over 750kg or combined weight over 3500kg, if you passed your driving test before 1997 this does not apply.https://www.gov.uk/towing-with-car
